Online Donations

Donating online is the method of choice for many of today's donors. Nothing could be easier than simply clicking the "Donate Now" button and following the prompts. The Donor Portal seamlessly integrates with your credit card processor and payment gateway to accept online donations and have them automatically appear in FundRaiser - no manual entry required.


Recurring Donations

Offer your donors the option of setting up a recurring donation on your website. They can choose the amount, the day of the month to process it, the processing schedule (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, etc), and even the end date. The donation and all of its details will come into FundRaiser automatically, and the recurring donation will be completely set up. FundRaiser will then push the information to your credit card processor to process the donation automatically on the preferred date and schedule - no more manual processing or manual entry.

Interest-Free Payment Options

While we work hard to keep the software and the AMP affordable, we know that a major purchase of sophisticated fundraising software can sometimes be difficult to fit into a small nonprofit's budget. It's unfortunate, because that very software can often result in increased contributions, both in size and in quantity... sort of a nonprofit's Catch-22. To help with this, we offer flexible installment payments FundRaiser Hosted and FundRaiser Installed.

The no interest installment plans are available for 12 or 24 months to help spread out the cost of the license for the Installed or the Hosted software. With FundRaiser Installed, the monthly payments also include the Annual Maintenance Plan, so that you will always have access to the training, support, and program updates. With FundRaiser Hosted, the cost of the license is divided by 12 or 24 and added to the monthly hosting fee, which also includes AMP. While you are making your installments, you'll receive a set of temporary registration codes to use. At the end of your installment period, you own the software for life and receive your permanent registration codes.

Moving your Data

Wondering how to get your current data into FundRaiser? There are two options: Importing and Data Conversion.

Importing your Data

All three FundRaiser programs come with built-in import utilities that will make it easy for you to import donor information from a comma delimited or a CSV file. You can easily import donor demographic information like names, addresses, notes and codes. You can also import up to two donations per donor using the built-in import options. This is a good solution for organizations without extensive giving history for their donors, or organizations with mostly one-time donors. Many organizations who use this option choose to have volunteers manually enter any past giving history that didn't come through with the import.

Converting your Data

If your database contains a lot of donors with multiple donations, or multiple types of donations, such as pledges or memberships, then you might want to consider a custom Data Conversion. During this process, you will work closely with one of our Data Conversion experts to convert all of your existing data into FundRaiser. You will have multiple opportunities to determine where in FundRaiser your data should go in order to be most useful for you, and the final product is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. Learn More

Interest-Free Installment Plan

We know that a major purchase of sophisticated fundraising software can sometimes be difficult to fit into a small nonprofit's budget. It's unfortunate, because that very software can often result in increased contributions, both in size and in quantity. Sort of a fundraiser's Catch-22.

So, FundRaiser Select and FundRaiser Professional may be purchased over time with no interest - something previously unheard of in the software industry. No credit history is needed - all nonprofits automatically qualify.

Here's how it works. You send in the first month's payment and we send you the program plus a time-sensitive security code. We will send you new codes as you continue to make payments. With your last payment you get a final permanent code.

We can accept payment by three methods:

  1. Check: we send you an invoice each month from which you write a check. There is a $3/month handling charge for this method.
  2. Credit Card: we charge your credit card and send you a receipt each month. There is a $3/month handling charge for this method, too.
  3. Direct Debit: This is our most popular payment method. We can debit the proper amount from a checking or savings account each month and send you a new code just twice a year instead of every month. It's simpler, so there is NO HANDLING CHARGE for this method. And, it's simple to set up. Just enter the bank numbers from one of your checks onto a form we send you, sign the form, and fax it back.

While we charge no interest, we do include a fee for the Annual Maintenance Plan with each monthly payment. This way, you are assured of staying current over the term of the payment period, and know that there will be no other charges.

Oh, and if you need us to convert your data from an old system to FundRaiser for you, we can include that cost in your monthly payments, too.

Wondering how much your payments will be? Simply add everything up (the price of the program plus any optional modules, plus Annual Maintenance Plan for the time period, plus any data conversion costs). Divide that amount by the number of months to get your monthly payment figure.

For example, FundRaiser Professional is $3500. The Annual Maintenance Plan fee is $650. So, the 12 month payment will be $345.85 (3500+650/12). If paying over two years, the 24 month payment will be $200 ($3500+650+650/24).

Data Conversion

FundRaiser Data Conversions

Converting data from one FundRaiser program to another is a simple process, but what about bringing data in from another program?

All FundRaiser programs have very sophisticated facilities for importing your existing data. They can import mailing list data (names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.), notes, codes, membership data, and some limited giving history. This facility is built right into the programs, so that you can do the actual importing yourself, if you desire. However, the process can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not experienced with computers, so we fully expect that you'll ask us for help with this process, and our Technical Support staff is ready to assist you.

Sometime the built-in import tools aren't quite enough, and there are situations when it may be better for you to hire us to convert your data for you. This would be true if you also want to convert a list of contributions (the giving history, which can be imported only partially via the FundRaiser programs' importing facility), have data which must be manipulated or translated before it can be imported, record pledge history or detailed membership history, have data recorded in an unusual format, or any of a number of other conditions. Data conversion costs depend on the program you want to import from and the data that is included. Check with sales for specific prices.

We'll be happy to provide you with a firm price quote on conversion - just give us a call. Data conversion fees can be included in your Interest-Free Installment Plan for FundRaiser Select or Professional.

Here are the steps involved in our performing the data conversion for you:

  • Give us a call. We'll talk about what type of program your data is in now, and identify the files that need to be sent to us.
  • You send us a copy of your data. (Of course, we guarantee its confidentiality while it's in our hands.) You continue to use your existing program while we work out the details of the data conversion.
  • We analyze the data, talk to you about how some ambiguous items are used, which items are unimportant, what special processing will be needed, etc.
  • We prepare a quote that includes what information will and will not be converted. To this point, there is no cost to you.
  • You decide if you want us to do the data conversion. If you do, then you give us the go-ahead.
  • We write the conversion program, and test it with the data you have previously sent us.
  • Meanwhile, you play with your FundRaiser program, take some online training, and slowly get up to speed so that you're ready to go when your data is ready.
  • We send you a series of trial conversions that you restore and view in the FundRaiser program that you are purchasing.
  • You review the trial conversions. If there are any problems, we make the needed corrections.
  • You stop using your old program, and send the current data to us.
  • We immediately run the final conversion process and send the data back to you. As a result, your operations are interrupted for only a day or two.

If you can not afford the cost of data conversion, we can recommend four other options:

  • Remember that we do offer no-interest monthly payment plans that can include the cost of data conversion.
  • Import what you can using the import facilities built into FundRaiser. They're really quite impressive, and you should be able to import everything except detailed financial information. Then call in volunteers to gradually add the past giving history through FundRaiser. This enables you to start processing new donations right away, and will gradually give you the archival data that is so important for reporting and query purposes.
  • Give each of your volunteers a copy of FundRaiser Basic (there is no extra cost to you for this), and a portion of your list, and ask them to enter the data onto their computer for you. When they are done, they create a backup, which you then import into whichever level of FundRaiser you are using.
  • If you have access to a database professional, one who is familiar with database tables, and has experience manipulating them, then that person can do the data conversion for you instead of us. Our programmers will be glad to provide a reasonable amount of guidance to that person at no additional charge. We cannot be responsible for the accuracy of someone else's conversion, so be sure that this person is qualified!
